Sophie Beeren was born in Sydney, Australia in 1983 and completed her undergraduate education at the University of New South Wales. She moved to the United Kingdom in 2006 and obtained her PhD from the University of Cambridge before moving Copenhagen in 2011 taking up a Post-Doctoral position at the Carlsberg Laboratory. In 2015 Sophie started at DTU, initially as a Research Fellow, then Assistant Professor and now Associate Professor.
