We are proud to announce that Professor Esben Thormann, from DTU Chemistry, has been granted 6.2 million DKK from the Independent Research Fund Denmark, Natural Sciences, in support of the study of ion pairing in aqueous polyelectrolyte systems.
Coloplast and Riemann are jointly developing new materials with DTU that prevent sweat from impairing the adhesiveness of stoma bags and sunscreens.
The Danish polymer award - ATV | Elastyren Prize - has been awarded at ATV's annual meeting, and Professor Esben Thormann from DTU Chemistry is one of two researchers to be awarded the honour.
Smart polymers, protein stability, fuel cells and solar energy headline new projects at DTU Chemistry made possible by Independent Research Fund Denmark (DFF).
As Professor, Esben Thormann will be able to strengthen the efforts of DTU Chemistry within the chemistry of complex and functional surfaces with respect to education, fundamental research and industrial collaboration.
Topical film formers for sunscreens and adhesives for attachment of ostomy bags are examples of polymers designed for contact with the human skin. Such products may be improved by application of state-of-the-art knowledge on polymer surface chemistry
Audacity to go after the most intriguing scientific problems and the willingness to engage in original thought without losing sight of the stakeholders needs will be the key drivers in the new DTU Center for Nanomedicine and Theranostics, according to DTU Chemistry’s newly appointed Professor Mads H. Clausen and his colleagues.
