We are delighted to announce that Charlotte Held Gotfredsen has been appointed Professor in NMR Spectroscopy at DTU Chemistry as of April 1, 2025.
Throughout her career, Charlotte’s research has focused on utilizing NMR Spectroscopy as a core analytical tool at the interface between chemistry and biology. This interdisciplinary approach holds significant potential, especially within biochemistry, biotechnology, chemistry and medicine.
Charlotte’s research group collaborates extensively with both national and international partners such as DTU Bioengineering and DTU Biosustain, as well as renowned international universities. These collaborations cover a wide range of projects, spanning from structural studies of molecules of both chemical and biological origin, NMR screening in drug discovery, fluorine NMR, and method and technological developments.
Currently, Charlotte’s research is centered on developing and applying ‘new’ NMR techniques for studying complex biological systems. The aim is to improve e.g. the resolution, the sensitivity and the power of NMR spectroscopy, which can lead to important new insights.
Since 2016, Charlotte has headed the NMR Center DTU – a core NMR infrastructure that serves and benefits all of DTU and numerous external customers and collaborators.
We look forward to following Charlotte's continued work and the exciting advancements she will bring to the field.
