It is with great pleasure that DTU Chemistry announces the appointment of Sebastian Meier as Professor of NMR Spectroscopy, effective April 1, 2025.
Sebastian has a notable background in the development and application of nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) for studying biomolecules and materials. His work focuses on advanced spectroscopic methods to gain detailed insights into molecular structures, reaction pathways and dynamics, which are of great importance to both biochemistry, organic chemistry and materials science.
In his new role, Sebastian will continue his research in NMR-based methods, particularly focusing on developing new techniques for studying complex biological systems and catalytic processes. His research aims to integrate NMR with other analytical techniques to achieve a more holistic understanding of chemical systems.
Sebastian and his research group work across disciplines and collaborate closely with an array of national and international partners. The group engages with researchers in chemistry, physics, and biotechnology, as well as industrial stakeholders who recognize the significant potential of NMR technology. In his new position, Sebastian will continue and expand his research collaborations with DTU Bioengineering, DTU Health Tech, and several international universities.
Congratulations to Sebastian Meier on his appointment and we look forward to following his continued contributions to the NMR research at DTU Chemistry.
